On April 17, 2010 The City of Rehoboth Beach and the City of Greve, Italy signed a Sister City agreement in Greve, Italy in a gesture of friendship and goodwill, and agreed to collaborate for the mutual benefit of their communities by exploring educational, economic and cultural opportunities. This relationship was formed specifically to enhance the relationship with Greve, Italy subsequent to the installation of the Verrazzano monument on the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.

On April 17, 2011, a delegation from Greve, Italy traveled to Rehoboth Beach to experience the hospitality of our City. The delegation was treated to a tour of the Dogfish Brewery, a reception at the Rehoboth Art League, a coastal dinner, a cruise of the surrounding waters, culminating in a public ceremony at the Pavilion followed by a gala luncheon atop the Henlopen Hotel.
